Job summary

United Dental Corporation is seeking a dependable Dental Assistant to join our open-mouth practice full-time. The role focuses on chairside support, sterilization, and patient care while offering opportunities to assist with front-office tasks as needed.

The ideal candidate has dental assisting experience, X-ray certification, and is comfortable expanding knowledge of administrative duties. Mondays may include additional front-office and patient coordination support.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and turnover treatment rooms.
  • Sterilize instruments and maintain infection-control standards.
  • Take dental X-rays and perform other permitted assisting functions.
  • Review and prepare for the daily patient schedule.
  • Maintain clinical supplies, instruments, and equipment.
  • Provide a positive and comfortable patient experience.
  • Communicate effectively with the doctor, hygienists, and front-office team.
  • Cross-train on front-office operations and provide coverage as needed.
  • Assist with patient coordination, scheduling, and treatment-plan follow-up.

Compensation: $24 - $25
Patient Mix: PPO
Practice Type: General Dentistry
Schedule: Full Time (Mon - Thurs)
Benefits Eligibility: Employees regularly scheduled to work 30+ hours per week may be eligible for benefits.

About the Role

We are looking for a dependable, team-oriented Dental Assistant to join our practice full-time. This position will primarily provide chairside and clinical support to our dental team, with an opportunity to cross-train and assist with front-office responsibilities as needed.

The ideal candidate is an experienced Dental Assistant who is comfortable working directly with patients and is also interested in expanding their knowledge of the administrative side of a dental practice. Mondays may include additional front-office and patient coordination support, making this a good opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and wants to broaden their dental experience.

Position Structure

Full-time position primarily focused on dental assisting. As part of the role, the Dental Assistant will cross-train with the front office and may provide additional administrative/patient coordination support, particularly on Mondays.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures

What We’re Looking For
  • Previous dental assisting experience preferred
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and treatment planning
  • X-ray certification and other applicable Arizona requirements
  • Strong patient communication and customer-service skills
  • Dependable, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced practice
  • Willingness to cross-train and provide front-office support when needed
  • Team-oriented approach and flexibility to support the needs of the practice
  • Active Dental Assistant Certification or Registration (if required by state)
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification
  • Dental radiology certification (if required by state)
  • Knowledge of infection control and sterilization procedures
  • Strong communication and patient care skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

Preferred

  • EFDA Certification (where applicable)
  • Coronal Polishing Certification
  • Sealant Certification
  • Experience with digital radiography
  • Experience with dental software and electronic health records
  • Experience in PPO, Fee-for-Service, and/or Medicaid environments
  • Bilingual skills (if applicable to market)
