Job summary

ForwardDental Forest Home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is seeking an experienced Dental Assistant to join our team. The position offers a pay range of $19.00 to $25.00 per hour and uses Dentrix for scheduling and records.

The ideal candidate will have 2 to 3 years of dental assistant experience, be familiar with Dentrix and iTero 3D scanning, and work well with patients and team members in a fast-paced office. Flexible hours and ongoing training are available.

Qualifications

• Must have dental assistant certification and/or x-ray certification as required by state.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• HIPAA training and PHI protection awareness.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey and educate them throughout treatment.
• Take and process x-rays and other diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography).
• Provide chairside assistance to dentists during procedures in accordance with state dental practice act.
• Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and record keeping.
• Maintain sterile, safe treatment rooms following OSHA & CDC guidelines.
• Manage supplies and inventory and place orders as needed.
• Support providers and team to improve office workflow.

ForwardDental Forest Home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is looking for an experienced Dental Assistant to join our team.

Pay Range: $19.00 to $25.00 per hour

Experience Requested: 2 to 3 years

Dental Software: Dentrix

Practice Hours

Monday: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Tuesday through Thursday: 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Friday: 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have 2 to 3 years of Dental Assistant experience and general computer knowledge. Experience using Dentrix is preferred.

The successful candidate should be able to:

• Work effectively with patients and team members from a variety of backgrounds
• Work independently while also contributing to a collaborative team environment
• Manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced dental office
• Anticipate the next steps in patient care and office flow after completing initial training
• Remain dependable and flexible when patient care extends beyond normal office hours

More about the role

• Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey, as well as sustain patient comfort and provide appropriate education throughout treatment
• Conduct a thorough review of the patient’s health history in order to provide quality care
• Take and process x-rays and other diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography, etc.)
• Provide superior chairside assistance (i.e., four-handed dentistry) to supported dentists during a wide variety of procedures in accordance with the state dental practice act
• Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and record keeping
• Prepare treatment room with strict adherence to safety protocols and following OSHA & CDC recommendations
• Manage supply and inventory levels, as well as place and expedite orders as needed
• Partner with the providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize office workflow

Minimum Qualifications

• Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
• Experience working in a fast-paced and customer-centric environment
• If required under the state dental practice act, dental assistant certification and/or x-ray certification
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• The position will have access to minimum PHI necessary for performing job-related functions; regular HIPAA training, aligning with the specific role and responsibilities, will be required; and the individual will need to protect PHI and maintain data safeguards.

Preferred Experience

• 1+years of experiencein a dental setting
• Dentrix or other dental software experience
• Dental assisting school certification

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting and standing
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds at times
• Availability to attend virtual training sessions (or in-person)periodically throughout the year

This is a standard requirement for dental office roles and must be completed prior to starting employment.
