Job summary

North American Dental Group seeks a Dental Assistant to join our Ohio practice. You will work with the team to provide excellent clinical support, prepare patients, and assist dentists in restorative procedures.

The position emphasizes empathy, patient education, and OSHA/HIPAA compliance. A Dental Assisting Certification or on-the-job training, CPR, and state radiography certification are required; benefits include 401k and PTO.

Qualifications

• Dental assisting certification or on-the-job training.
• 1-5 years of experience preferred; new graduates considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide chair-side clinical support to Doctors and Hygienists, including charting and patient education.
• Prepare patients for treatment; assist dentists during dental procedures following OSHA guidelines.
• Record and review patient health history; enter forms in dental software as directed.
• Set up trays and instruments; maintain asepsis and sterilization processes.
• Expose and develop dental radiographs; ensure HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

Dental Assistant partners with the practice team to provide excellent clinical support to help patients get the care they need. Dental Assistant will help prepare the patient for treatment and assist the dentist in restorative dentistry.

Skills Required to Make a Great \"Impression\" on Our Team

• Provides excellent chair-side clinical support and assistance to Doctors and Hygienists which includes but is not limited to: charting, operatory set/clean up, and patient education.
• Records and reviews patient health history, makes chart entries under the doctor's direction and assures completion of forms and signatures in dental software.
• Reviews the daily schedule to set up appropriate trays and instruments.
• Prepares patients, sterilizes and disinfects instruments, sets up instrument trays, maintains chain of asepsis, prepares materials, and assists dentists during dental procedures following OSHA guidelines.
• Exposes and develops dental diagnostic radiographs.
• Follows OSHA regulations and safety requirements to include compliance with HIPAA guidelines, CPR, X-rays, and other required certifications and registrations.
