Job summary

North American Dental Group, in Napoleon, OH, is seeking a Dental Assistant to support our clinical team and deliver high-quality patient care.

You will prep patients for treatment, assist the dentist, manage charting and documentation, and help maintain asepsis and OSHA-compliant workflows. The position offers a full-time schedule with early mornings and a weekly Friday rotation.

Qualifications

• Dental assisting certification is required.
• Radiography/X-ray certification required (state-specific).
• CPR certification required.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and patient education.

Responsibilities

• Provide chair-side support to dentists and hygienists with charting, setup, and patient education.
• Record and review patient health histories and document under the dentist's direction.
• Set up trays and instruments based on daily schedule and procedures.
• Prepare patients, sterilize and disinfect instruments, maintain asepsis per OSHA.
• Assist with procedures, including taking and developing radiographs.
• Ensure OSHA, HIPAA, CPR and safety certifications are maintained.

Your Work Schedule

Monday: 7:45am-5pm

Tuesday: 7:45am-5pm

Wednesday: 7:45am-7pm

Thursday: 7:45am-5pm

Every other Friday: 7:45am-1pm

Your Role as a Dental Assistant

As a Dental Assistant, you’ll collaborate with our practice team to provide outstanding clinical support, ensuring patients receive the care they need. You’ll prepare patients for treatment, assist the dentist in restorative procedures, and maintain a high standard of care and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional chair-side clinical support to dentists and hygienists, including charting, operatory setup/cleanup, and patient education.
• Record and review patient health histories, make chart entries under the dentist's direction, and ensure all documentation is complete.
• Set up trays and instruments based on the daily schedule and procedure requirements.
• Prepare patients, sterilize/disinfect instruments, and maintain asepsis following OSHA standards.
• Assist with dental procedures, including exposing and developing diagnostic radiographs.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and other certifications and safety requirements.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• Dental Assisting Certification or prior on-the-job training.
• 1-5 years of experience preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
• Radiography/X-Ray certification (state-specific).
• Current CPR certification.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
