Job summary

Mount Joy Dental Associates is a busy single-dentist general dentistry office seeking a detail-oriented assistant to support the clinical team.

You will manage sterilization, prepare and turnover operatories, assist with emergencies, and help with patient care while coordinating with the dentist, hygienists, and EFDAs. Dentrix experience is a plus; a friendly attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in dental sterilization and assisting.
• X-ray license required.
• Excellent communication and patient-care skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

We have a busy single dentist general dentistry office and our main goal is helping our patients. This position supports the entire clinical team by maintaining sterilization flow, preparing and turning over operatories, assisting with emergency patients, supporting the dentist, hygienists, and EFDAs as needed, maintaining equipment and maintenance logs, helping manage clinical supplies, and keeping the back office organized and ready for patient care.

Duties include

• Sterilization/Assisting: The primary role is managing sterilization with basic dental assisting duties as needed throughout the workday.
• Records: Logging equipment maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Radiography: Digital radiographs and CT images, X-ray License required.
• Patient Care: Explaining dental treatments and treatment plans, post op instructions, and monitoring and ensuring patient comfort for the entire visit.
• Office Management: Maintaining a clean and organized operatory and updating dental records. Accurately recording notes and coding appointment information using dental software (Dentrix).
• Communication: Communicating effectively with patients and other dental team members. A friendly, positive attitude with patients and teammates is a must.

Schedule:

Monday: 8-5, Tuesday: 7-5, Wednesdays: closed, Thursday: 7-5, Friday: 7-1. We arrive 30 minutes before our first patients to set up and review schedules.
