Job summary

The Dental Center of Mishawaka, part of Dental Care Alliance, is hiring a Dental Assistant in Mishawaka, IN to support our clinical team with patient care in a team-based setting.

Responsibilities include preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, taking X-rays, assisting dentists, and maintaining patient records while following safety and infection control protocols. One year of experience and X-ray certification required; expanded functions certification preferred.

Qualifications

• One year or more on-the-job-experience with supporting documentation.
• X-Ray certification, required.
• Expanded Functions Dental Assistant - Required.
• Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake.
• Assist in managing dental and medical emergencies with CPR readiness.

Position Overview:As a Dental Assistant you are an integral part of care team in providing support to the office and assisting the professional dental staff with treatment. • Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.

• High school diploma or equivalent

Dental Assistant are also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.
