Job summary

NHOMS | MassOMS in New Hampshire seeks a Dental Assistant to support oral surgeons and facilitate smooth clinic operations. You will assist chairside during a wide range of surgical procedures, prepare and sterilize rooms and instruments, and maintain strict infection control and patient documentation for a safe care environment.

The role requires radiology skills, CPR, and licensure as applicable; on-the-job training is provided.

Qualifications

  • CPR certification required or obtainable.
  • Radiology certification required or obtainable within 6 months.
  • NH MedTech required for NH assistants; MA license for MA assistants.
  • DAANCE certification preferred or achievable within 1 year.
  • Familiarity with Open Dental is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist chairside during dental surgical procedures.
  • Prepare, disinfect, and sterilize treatment rooms and instruments.
  • Ensure infection control, CDC, OSHA, and HIPAA compliance.
  • Capture radiographic images and maintain patient records.
  • Provide pre- and post-operative care instructions to patients.
  • Maintain accurate patient charting for continuity of care.

Position Summary

The role of a Dental Assistant is pivotal in supporting oral surgeons and facilitating the smooth operation of the clinic. This position demands a proficient and driven individual with a robust foundation in dental assisting, with a preferred emphasis on oral surgery. The right candidate will actively engage with oral surgeons, offering invaluable support during surgical procedures, upholding sterility in the surgical environment, and ensuring unwavering adherence to the highest standards of patient care. Those who should apply: LPNs, Medical Assistants, CNAs, Medical Techs, Nurse's Aids, Sterilization Techs, Phlebotomists, IV Techs, etc! We will train!

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Assist chairside proficiently during a diverse range of dental surgical procedures.
  • Prepare, break down, disinfect, and sterilize treatment rooms and instruments to maintain optimal hygiene standards.
  • Ensure strict compliance with infection control, CDC, OSHA, and HIPAA regulations, guaranteeing a safe and secure environment for both patients and staff.
  • Capture high-quality radiographic images and maintain meticulous documentation of patient records.
  • Provide patients with comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative care instructions to enhance their overall experience and recovery.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough patient charting for effective record-keeping and continuity of care.
Required Skills & Abilities:
  • Possession of a High School Diploma and reliable transportation is essential.
  • Demonstrated motivation to learn with a genuine passion for healthcare and a commitment to direct patient care.
  • Previous experience in dental or oral surgery is preferred, showcasing a solid foundation in dental assisting.
  • Familiarity with Open Dental software is a plus, demonstrating adaptability to dental practice management tools.
  • Basic computer literacy, including proficiency in email and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Willingness to travel as required to support clinic operations.
  • Strong follow-through, effective communication, and reliability are paramount for success in this role.
Requirements
Qualifications:
  • CPR certification to ensure readiness in emergency situations.
  • Radiology certification or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire, ensuring proficiency in capturing diagnostic images.
  • NH MedTech (for NH Assistants only).
  • MA Dental Assisting License (for MA Assistant only).
  • DAANCE certification is preferred, or the ability to achieve it within 1 year of hire, indicating a commitment to professional development in dental anesthesia and sedation.
Compensation & Benefits:
  • Pay: $22.00-$30.00 per hour.
