Under the general direction of the Chief of Dentistry and the Manager of Dental Services, the Dental Assistant provides effective chairside assistance, maintenance, and administrative duties to promote efficiency and productivity for the Dentist and Dental Hygienist.

The Dental Assistant must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age, culture, ethnicity, and specific diagnostic needs of the patients served. They should be able to assess and interpret patient data to identify specific needs and provide appropriate care for patient groups such as pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric populations, considering cultural and diagnostic factors.

The role requires consistently expressing and demonstrating compassion and courtesy towards patients, as well as extending support to patients' families and visitors.

Qualifications:

• Dental Assistant Certificate, as specified by state regulations
• X-ray certification, as specified by state regulations
