Job summary

Austin Children's Dentistry in Leander, TX seeks a dedicated Dental Assistant to join its clinical team. You will support the office and dentists, ensuring top-quality patient care in a collaborative, team-based environment.

Candidates should have two+ years of experience, X-ray certification, and CPR training; coronal polishing and nitrous oxide certification are preferred. The position is on-site with standard dental office hours and opportunities for continuing education.

Qualifications

• Two years or more on-the-job experience with documentation.
• Must have X-Ray certification and coronal polishing.
• Nitrous oxide certification is highly recommended.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Clinical support: prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient care: welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & diagnostics: take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, maintain study models.
• Compliance & safety: enforce infection control protocols and protect patient confidentiality.
• Record-keeping: maintain accurate patient records and schedule appointments as needed.
• Emergency readiness: assist in emergencies, CPR certified, and manage emergency supplies.

Austin Children's Dentistry is looking for a Dental Assistant in Leander, TX to assist our clinical team by providing a high level of patient care and satisfaction while operating in a team-based environment.

Position Overview

As a Dental Assistant you are an integral part of care team in providing support to the office and assisting the professional dental staff with treatment. Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations..
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed)
• Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.

• Coronal Polishing
• Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended
• High school diploma or equivalent

Dental Assistant are also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.
