Description:
Under the close direction of the Director, Dental Center and Office Manager, the Dental Assistant assists the doctor in delivering dental care to children, adolescents, adults, geriatric, and medically compromised patients. Responsibilities include taking medical histories, blood pressures, radiographs, and complying with safety and infection control standards.
Partial access to medications is granted to the incumbent as they are required to transport or stock medications at approved storage locations.
Position Purpose
The Dental Assistant at Saint Francis Hospital is responsible for supporting dentists in providing exceptional treatment to patients with various medical conditions.
What you will do
- Assist dental residents in delivering dental care
- Take medical history, blood pressure, temperature, and radiographs on patients of all ages and conditions
- Ensure compliance with safety and infection control standards
- Perform reception duties, scheduling, data entry, and billing for the Dental Clinic
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma; successful completion of an accredited Dental Assisting program
- Certification: Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) Infection Control exam
- Radiation and Infection Control Certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- 1-3 years of Dental Assistance experience preferred
- Ability to pass drug screening and background check
