Description:
Under the close direction of the Director, Dental Center and Office Manager, assists the doctor in delivering dental care to children, adolescents, adults, geriatric, and medically compromised patients. Takes medical histories, blood pressures, and radiographs. Complies with safety and infection control standards.

Partial access to medications is granted to this position as they are required to transport or stock medications at approved storage locations.

Position Purpose
At Saint Francis Hospital, the Dental Assistant is responsible for assisting dentists while providing exceptional treatment to patients with various medical conditions.

What you will do
  • Assist dental residents in delivering dental care
  • Take medical histories, blood pressure, temperature, and radiographs on patients of all ages and health statuses
  • Maintain safety and infection control standards
  • Perform reception duties, scheduling, data entry, and billing for the Dental Clinic

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Graduate; successful completion of an accredited Dental Assisting program
  • Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) Infection Control certification
  • Radiation and Infection Control Certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • 1-3 years of Dental Assistance experience preferred
  • Ability to pass drug screening and background check
