Job summary

Pierpan Family Dentistry in Hampstead, MD is seeking a certified dental assistant to join our team. You will prepare exam rooms, sterilize instruments, take X-rays, and assist dentists during procedures while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, scheduling, maintaining records, and supporting payment procedures. A radiographic certification and at least 18 months of clinical experience are required, with coronal polishing as a plus.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a certified dental assistant training program.
  • Radiographic certification required.
  • Coronal Polishing is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare exam rooms and sterilize instruments.
  • Assist dentists during procedures by handing instruments and anticipating needs.
  • Take and process X-rays of patients.
  • Perform instructed lab tasks.
  • Greet patients and schedule appointments.

Location:Pierpan Family DentistryJob Responsibilities:Preparing exam rooms, sterilizing instruments, and ensuring necessary equipment is ready for dentistsKnowledge of general anatomy of the mouth and dental termsUnderstanding of crowns, fillings, extractions, root canals and implantsAssisting dentists during procedures by handing them instruments and anticipating needsTaking and processing X-rays of patientsPerform lab tasks as instructedGreeting patients as they arrive and scheduling appointmentsAdvising patients on recommended oral hygieneMaintaining accurate patient records and assist with payment proceduresStrong communications skills required to deliver oral hygiene and post-operative care instructionsHandling general administrative and other duties to maintain the dental practiceQualifications:Education: Completion of a certified dental assistant training program required. Radiographic certification required.
