Baystate Dental in Greenfield, Massachusetts is seeking a Dental Assistant to support the clinical team by preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and assisting dentists during procedures.

Candidates must complete a one-year certified dental assistant program and have X-ray certification; Nitrous Oxide certification is recommended. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and a modern, technology-enabled practice.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake.
• Assist dentist in emergencies by supporting CPR readiness and maintaining emergency supplies.

• Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.

Qualifications

• Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program
• X-Ray certification - Required
• Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended
• High school diploma or equivalent

Dental Assistant are also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.
