Job summary

Lone Star Circle of Care in Texas is seeking Dental Assistants who are passionate about improving community oral health. You will assist dentists during procedures, prepare patients, and maintain instruments in a friendly, fast-paced clinic.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, Active Texas Dental Assistant License, and BLS certification. Preferred: 1 year of experience and bilingual English/Spanish. Monday–Thursday schedule with a signing bonus of $750 to welcome you to the team.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Active Texas Dental Assistant License is required.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association or Red Cross is required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and prepare dental patients
• Assist dentists during procedures and maintain instruments and supplies
• Perform basic and some moderately complex dental procedures
• Assist in handing instruments and materials to dentists and keep patients' mouths dry and clear by using suction or other devices
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment
• Prepare trays of instruments for dental procedures and instruct patients on postoperative and general oral health care
• Recording patients' health histories
• Taking and developing x-rays and preparing dental compounds
• Taking pouring and trimming dental impressions and seating temporary restorations

Our Dental Assistants assist in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a dentist.
Monday - Thursday, 7:30 am - 6:00 pm Work Schedule

A Day in the Life of a Dental Assistant may look like this:

• Greet and prepare dental patients
• Assist dentists during procedures and maintain instruments and supplies
• Perform basic and some moderately complex dental procedures
• Assisting in handing instruments and materials to dentists and keep patients' mouths dry and clear by using suction or other devices
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment
• Prepare trays of instruments for dental procedures and instruct patients on postoperative and general oral health care

We ask our Dental Assistants to possess a minimum of:

• High school diploma or GED
• Active Texas Dental Assistant License
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross

The following experience/skills are preferred:

• Experience as a Dental Assistant, minimum of one (1) year
• Proficiency with EMR system
• Bilingual English/Spanish language skills are a definite plus
