Job summary

Altura Periodontics in Denver, CO is seeking an experienced dental assistant to support our periodontists and deliver exceptional patient care. Strong communication and organization are essential as part of a supportive team.

The role includes infection-control duties, room preparation, instrument handing, patient instructions, and accurate documentation. Prior dental assisting experience is required, and we offer comprehensive benefits and a stable, patient-focused practice.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with computers, updating patient histories, and with dental software.
  • Up-to-date BLS/CPR certification is required.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills.
  • Previous dental assisting experience is necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Disinfect and sterilize equipment after use per infection-control policies.
  • Prepare treatment rooms with sterilized equipment and supplies.
  • Assist dentists and hygienists during procedures by handing instruments and providing suction.
  • Give postoperative care instructions and schedule follow-ups; explain treatment plans to patients.
  • Greet patients and explain care plans to ensure comfort during visits.
  • Record vital signs and medical history for patient records.

Compensation:

$25 - $29 hourly


Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to all dental office infection control policies and safety regulations by disinfecting and sterilizing all equipment and instruments after use
  • Equip and prepare treatment rooms for examination and procedures by laying out necessary sterilized equipment, dental instruments, anesthetics, dental supplies, and materials
  • Assist dentists and dental hygienists during any procedures or examinations by handing off dental instruments, providing suction, and ensuring chair-side accessibility to the team
  • Provide postoperative instructions with methods for infection control of the patients’ teeth and gums after procedures, answer any questions they may have about dental hygiene, and schedule appointments for patient care follow up
  • Welcome patient and explain dental care treatment plans so they feel comfortable during their appointment
  • Take and document vital signs and medical history for patient records

Qualifications:
