Job summary

West Coast Dental Services in California is seeking a skilled Dental Assistant to join our growing DSO. You will prepare treatment rooms, assist dentists, take digital X-rays, document notes, educate patients, and help ensure compliance with CA regulations in a high-quality clinical setting.

The ideal candidate is patient-focused, dependable, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Active California Dental Assistant certification, X-ray certification, CPR/BLS, and 1+ year of experience

Qualifications

• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• Active California Dental Assistant certification required by state law.
• X-ray certification required (California compliant).
• CPR/BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms and ensure proper sterilization of instruments.
• Assist dentist during a variety of treatment procedures.
• Take digital X-rays in compliance with CA radiology standards.
• Chart procedures and document clinical notes accurately.
• Provide patient education on post-treatment care and oral hygiene.
• Maintain inventory and assist with ordering dental supplies.
• Ensure OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control compliance.
• Support front office when needed to enhance patient experience.

The ideal candidate is patient-focused, dependable, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-quality clinical environment. This role supports our providers in delivering exceptional patient care while maintaining efficiency and compliance with California regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms and ensure proper sterilization of instruments
• Assist dentist during a variety of treatment procedures
• Take digital X-rays in compliance with CA radiology standards
• Chart procedures and document clinical notes accurately
• Provide patient education on post-treatment care and oral hygiene
• Maintain inventory and assist with ordering dental supplies
• Ensure OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control compliance
• Support front office when needed to enhance patient experience

Qualifications

• Active California Dental Assistant certification (as required by state law)
• X-ray certification (California compliant)

• Minimum 1 year of dental assisting experience preferred
• Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures
• Experience with Denticon or similar dental software preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
