Summary

Performs general office, sterilization and chairside duties in support of dental clinic and operatory functions.

Minimum Education

• Currently enrolled in a dental assisting program or has successfully completed a dental assisting program
• CDA certification preferred
• Current radiology certificate with Ohio Dental Board

Minimum Work Experience

• Chairside experience
• Experience scheduling appointments and collecting patient data
• Experience with equipment maintenance and inventory and ordering of supplies
• Experience developing digital x-rays and inputting them into computer
• Experience with dental software, Dentrix preferred

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Excellent oral communication skills with ability to interact professionally and compassionately with patients and co‑workers.
• Knowledge of dental terminology and office practice and procedures.
• Basic computer skills
• Experience entering patient data, appointments and treatment plans in computer
• Population Specific Competency: ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self‑respect and dignity.
