Job summary

North American Dental Group partners Woodland Lake Family Dental in Brighton, MI, seeking a Dental Assistant to join our team. You'll provide outstanding clinical support, prepare patients for treatment, assist the dentist in restorative procedures, and uphold safety and quality standards.

Mon–Fri hours are 8:45am–5:00pm most days, with Fridays until 2:00pm. We value empathy, teamwork, and patient education, and offer comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Certification in dental assisting required; on-the-job training acceptable.
• 1–5 years experience preferred; new grads welcome.
• State-specific radiography/x-ray certification.
• Current CPR certification.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• Commitment to delivering exceptional service and patient education.

Responsibilities

• Provide chair-side clinical support to dentists and hygienists.
• Record patient health histories and maintain documentation per dentist's direction.
• Set up trays and instruments according to daily schedule.
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments and maintain asepsis per OSHA.
• Assist with dental procedures, including radiographs.
• Ensure OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and safety certifications are maintained.

Your Work Schedule

Monday: 8:45am-5pm

Tuesday: 8:45am-5pm

Wednesday: 8:45am-5pm

Thursday: 8:45am-5pm

Friday: 8:45am-2pm

Your Role as a Dental Assistant

As a Dental Assistant, you'll collaborate with our practice team to provide outstanding clinical support, ensuring patients receive the care they need. You'll prepare patients for treatment, assist the dentist in restorative procedures, and maintain a high standard of care and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional chair-side clinical support to dentists and hygienists, including charting, operatory setup/cleanup, and patient education.
• Record and review patient health histories, make chart entries under the dentist's direction, and ensure all documentation is complete.
• Set up trays and instruments based on the daily schedule and procedure requirements.
• Prepare patients, sterilize/disinfect instruments, and maintain asepsis following OSHA standards.
• Assist with dental procedures, including exposing and developing diagnostic radiographs.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and other certifications and safety requirements.

What You'll Need To Succeed

• Dental Assisting Certification or prior on-the-job training.
• 1-5 years of experience preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
• Radiography/X-Ray certification (state-specific).
• Current CPR certification.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
