Position Summary

The Dental Assistant plays a vital role in the delivery of high-quality dental care by supporting dental students within the Pre-Doctoral Group Practice at BUGSDM. Under the direction of the Clinic Practice Manager, this individual ensures the operatory is properly prepared and maintained, facilitates four-handed dentistry, and promotes an efficient, patient-centered care environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist dental students in providing patient care by practicing four-handed dentistry.
• Prepare, clean, and disinfect operatories between patients and set up for subsequent procedures.
• Manage and restock clinical supplies and materials to avoid shortages.
• Prepare instrument cassettes for sterilization according to protocol.
• Support evening and Saturday clinic operations, as needed.
• Demonstrate empathy and professionalism in patient interactions.
• Foster a collaborative, team-oriented environment among students, faculty, and staff.
• Support student education by modeling effective patient communication and workflow practices.
