Position Summary

We are seeking a Dental Assistant - Prosth. The Prosthodontist Dental Assistant works under a dentist’s supervision to prepare equipment that will be used in dentistry procedures, to ready patients for these procedures, and to help the dentist during these procedures by passing instruments, holding the suction catheter in place, and generally anticipating the dentist’s needs. Some other responsibilities may include sophisticated functions such as removing sutures, processing x-rays, and taking oral impressions for crowns.

Responsibilities
  1. Work under the direct supervision of the Prosthodontist
  2. Perform patient care, office, and laboratory duties, including chair-side assistance during examinations and treatments
  3. Ensure patient comfort, prepare them for treatment, and obtain dental records
  4. Hand instruments and materials to dentists, keep patients’ mouths dry and clear using suction or other devices
  5. Sterilize and disinfect instruments, prepare trays, and instruct patients on oral health care
  6. Prepare materials for impressions and restorations, take and process dental x-rays
  7. Assist with radiological procedures as directed by a dentist
  8. Perform office duties such as scheduling, patient reception, record keeping, billing, and inventory management
  9. Assist in specialty areas including oral surgery, periodontics, prosthodontics, and implantology
  10. Support and assist hygienists, including cleaning trays and room setups
  11. Manage prosthetic supplies inventory and organization
  12. Support radiographic needs of various dental team members
Working Conditions
  • Work in a well-lighted, clean environment
  • Operate near the dental chair, handling instruments and materials
  • Wear protective gear to prevent infection
  • Follow safety procedures for x-ray equipment
Experience
  • Certified Dental Assistant by the A.D.A.
  • Minimum two years of experience
  • Dental implant experience preferred
  • Reliable, team-oriented, with good manual dexterity
  • Current CPR certification
Physical Requirements
  • Work in an office environment, walking and standing for extended periods
  • Lift up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Perform precise movements and adjustments
  • Support body movements including bending, reaching, and twisting
  • Coordinate multiple activities efficiently
Compensation and Benefits
