Qualifications

Job description

Our beautiful modern office in the Back Bay is looking to hire a full-time experienced dental assistant. Minimum 5 years of experience, x-ray certified. Surgical and ortho experience preferred. Job Description:
  1. Sterilizing dental instruments and equipment for each patient
  2. Organizing and laying out instruments for dentist’s use
  3. Handing instruments and other materials to dentist during procedures
  4. Taking x-rays of patients’ teeth
  5. Taking impressions of patients’ teeth for casts
  6. Using suction and swabs to keep patients’ mouths clear and dry during procedures
  7. Applying topical anesthetic to patients’ mouths
  8. Removing stitches
  9. Making temporary crowns
  10. Obtaining patients’ dental records & entering treatment plan in the system
  11. Questioning patients about their medical history and recording the information for dentist’s reference
  12. Advising patients on dental care
  13. Making patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment
