A leading company is seeking a Dental Assistant to support dental students in a clinical setting. Candidates must have a current Massachusetts Dental Assistant License and demonstrate strong communication and critical thinking skills. The role involves preparing patient treatment areas, organizing inventory, and working with a team to ensure high-quality patient care. This may be a temporary to permanent position with specified shifts Monday through Friday.
Position Description Summary: The dental assistant reporting to the Clinic Practice Manager is an integral member of the Pre Doctoral Group Practice team, providing support to the students for quality dental care to patients at the School of Dental Medicine (BUGSDM). The dental assistant demonstrates strong clinical skills by practicing four-handed dentistry, preparing operatory for required treatments, ensuring assigned operatories are cleaned and disinfected between each patient, and setting up for the next patient. They also prepare instrument cassettes for sterilization according to established protocols, organize and coordinate inventory to avoid shortages, restock cabinets when needed, and provide coverage during evening and Saturday clinic hours. The role requires providing compassion, understanding, and empathy towards patients, fostering good interpersonal skills, promoting teamwork among staff and faculty, and ensuring each phase of patient treatment is a positive experience from initial appointment through completion.
