Job summary

The Foehr Group in Bloomington, IL is seeking a Dental Assistant to support our clinical team with high-quality patient care in a team-based setting. The ideal candidate has dental assisting experience and a commitment to patient comfort and safety.

You will assist dentists, prepare treatment rooms, take X-rays, and help educate patients on oral hygiene. We offer a full-time schedule, comprehensive insurance, retirement plan, and opportunities for continuing education.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One or more years on-the-job-experience (with supporting documentation).
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed).
• Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.
