Job summary

Old Colony YMCA is seeking a Group Leader to inspire children through engaging activities and meaningful connections. You will lead games, crafts, and adventures, ensuring every child feels valued and included, while maintaining safety and program flow.

Ideal candidates are energetic, patient, and team-oriented, with a background in working with school-age children. The role offers on-site hours at multiple locations in Massachusetts and opportunities to grow within the organization.

Qualifications

  • Minimum age 18 with 6 months school-age experience.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required.
  • Evidence of physical examination within last 12 months.
  • Negative Mantoux TB test and immunity for measles, mumps, and rubella.
  • Ability to lift/move heavy equipment and clean when necessary.
  • Ability to work early mornings, late nights and weekends.
  • Strong oral communication skills for occasional public speaking.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift up to 75lbs (children) and move intermittently.
  • Understanding Y-USA focus areas: Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility.

  • Help set up and clean up to keep the site flowing smoothly.

Requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 18 years of age and have 6 months school age experience.
  • Have a High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Ability to create and sustain a culture of excellence and work and thrive as part of a cohesive team.
  • Ability to lift/move heavy equipment and clean when necessary.
  • Will sometimes work early morning, late nights and weekends.
  • Strong oral communication skills required for occasional public speaking responsibilities.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift up to 75lbs on occasion and 40lbs frequently (children) and move intermittently during work hours.
  • Ability to thoroughly understand Y-USA's three focus areas: Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility; proven ability to identify and meet the needs of the health seeker

Pay Range $16.00 - $18.40 / hour
