Job summary

Jeans Innovation Center in Gardena, CA is seeking a temporary Sample Sewer and Cutter Assistant to support our sample development process.

You will sew garment samples using industrial equipment, assist with fabric prep, cutting, alterations, and finishing, and work under experienced cutters to develop skills. Work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with potential overtime; compensation is $32–$34 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of sample-sewing experience in industrial garment sewing.
• Experience with denim and stretch fabrics.
• Ability to read and interpret patterns and specs.
• Basic math skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• English communication skills; Spanish helpful.

Responsibilities

• Sew garment samples using industrial equipment per patterns.
• Alter and refine samples to meet fit and production requirements.
• Assist with fabric preparation, cutting, and finishing.
• Review cut tickets and specifications to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain organized work area and inventory.
