Job summary

Jeans Innovation Center LLC in Gardena, CA is seeking a TEMP Sample Sewer and Cutter Assistant to support the sample development process. The role involves sewing garment samples, fabric prep, cutting, alterations, and finishing under guidance, with on-site schedule 5 days/week from 8:00 a.m.

to 4:30 p.m. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, at least three years of industrial sample-sewing experience, and comfort reading patterns and technical specs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of sample-sewing experience in industrial garment sewing.
• Experience with denim and stretch fabrics preferred.
• Ability to read patterns and specifications.
• English communication skills; Spanish helpful.

Responsibilities

• Review cut tickets, patterns, pattern cards, specifications, and sewing instructions.
• Sew garment samples using industrial equipment.
• Alter and refine samples for fit and production requirements.
• Assist sample cutters with fabric preparation activities.
• Learn sample-cutting techniques under experienced cutters.
• Cut, mark, and measure fabric blankets for shrinkage testing.
• Inspect completed work for accuracy and conformance with patterns.
• Prioritize assignments and complete samples on schedule.
• Communicate with designers, patternmakers, and technicians to reduce waste.
• Maintain organized fabric and trim inventory and a clean work area.
