Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of denial management experience.
• Experience working denied healthcare claims from start to finish.
• Knowledge of commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid payers.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Experience with multiple payer types and payer portals.
• Revenue Cycle, Accounts Receivable, or Medical Collections experience.
• Experience working claims in Maryland, Virginia, and/or Ohio markets.

Responsibilities

• Review and resolve denied insurance claims.
• Research denial reasons and determine appropriate next steps.
• Submit appeals, reconsiderations, and documentation to payers.
• Resolve issues related to authorizations, medical necessity, coordination of benefits (COB), duplicate claims, inclusive denials, and other denial types.
• Work with insurance companies, internal teams, and patients when necessary to obtain information needed to resolve claims.
• Document all actions taken and maintain accurate account notes.
• Meet productivity expectations of approximately 40 meaningful denial touches per day.
