Job summary

Lake Charles Memorial Health System seeks a Quality & Denial Analyst to train staff on front-end denials and mitigate denials from a pre-service perspective. The role emphasizes root-cause analysis and payer policy validation to prevent recurrence, with findings applied back into workflows.

You will develop training materials, deliver coaching, and ensure regulatory alignment while reporting to the Director of Financial Clearance and liaising with referring provider offices.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of three to five years of experience in denial analysis, prior authorization, utilization review, financial clearance, or a payer-facing revenue cycle capacity within a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the designated point of contact for denial review and weekly denial reports, conducts root-cause analysis, and translates findings into improvement initiatives.
• Performs weekly quality reviews of pre-bill edits and denials to optimize the revenue cycle pipeline.
• Acts as liaison with referring provider offices to address recurring issues related to non-covered services and medical necessity.
• Develops training curriculum, onboarding materials, and resources; delivers training and coaching to staff; maintains materials to reflect payer requirements and workflow standards.
• Ensures new staff complete required training and demonstrates HIPAA and confidentiality compliance prior to working live accounts.
• Administers competency assessments and provides targeted coaching for staff not meeting performance thresholds.
• Performs other training, quality, and denial analysis duties as assigned.
