Job summary

Independence Demolition seeks a Demolition Superintendent to lead industrial and commercial demolition projects in the Pittsburgh area. You will supervise day-to-day field activities, assess resources, and generate cost estimates to inform project budgets.

You will read drawings, monitor production and costs, coordinate safety practices, and work with owners, project engineers, and vendors. A strong background in industrial demolition and effective union workforce management are required to

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 5+ years of industrial demolition experience.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate with owners, project engineers, and vendors.
• Experience managing union workforces.
• Reading, understanding, and interpreting drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist estimating with pre-bid planning, productions, and field experience for upcoming projects.
• Assist Project Manager in preparing a detailed schedule and maintaining it throughout the project.
• Prepare work sequence with a detailed plan of attack and optimize use of work crews before mobilization.
• Read, understand, and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Monitor production, resource utilization, and project costs to maintain profit margins.
• Support close-out activities including punch lists, as-built drawings, M&O manuals, and final estimates.
• Uphold general and specific safety practices per company safety procedures and collaborate with the safety representative.
