Job summary

S.B. Cox is seeking an Excavator Operator to safely and productively operate excavators and related heavy equipment on demolition projects.

The role includes structural demolition, material handling, loading, site preparation, and debris management while adhering to safety and environmental requirements. The position involves working on active demolition sites, using multiple attachments, and following project plans.

Qualifications

HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
Minimum of three years of excavator operating experience preferred.
Demolition experience strongly preferred.
Experience operating multiple attachments including grapples, shears, and hydraulic hammers.
Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

Operate excavators with attachments (buckets, grapples, shears, hammers, processors).
Perform structural demolition of facilities.
Load trucks with demolition debris and recyclables.
Sort materials for recycling and disposal.
Assist with site preparation, grading, excavation, and backfilling.
Conduct daily inspections and basic maintenance of equipment.
Identify equipment issues and coordinate repairs with supervisors.
Follow demolition plans and work instructions from project management.
Work safely around utilities, structures, personnel, and equipment.
Maintain OSHA compliance and safety policies.
Participate in safety meetings and job hazard analyses.
Perform other duties as assigned.
