Job summary

St. Paul Elder Services, a premier elder care provider, seeks a Life Enrichment Assistant to enrich the lives of residents living with dementia.

You will help plan and deliver activities across Memory Connections, Memory Reflections, and Club Gabriel, focusing on physical, cognitive, social, and spiritual well-being in a home and community setting. This role emphasizes person-centered engagement, collaboration with our Community Services team, and a compassionate, energetic approach to daily

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous Personal Care Assistant (PCA) experience required.
• Previous experience providing dementia care required.
• Experience with therapeutic engagement or activities preferred.
• Ability to adapt to changing needs, moods, and behaviours.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team.
• Demonstrates maturity, good judgment, integrity, and a strong work ethic.
• Commitment to protecting the dignity, privacy and individuality of those we serve.

Responsibilities

• Enhance our Community Services with multiple programs, including Memory Connections, Memory Reflections, and Club Gabriel.
• Facilitate meaningful engagement programs for individuals living with dementia.
• Provide activities that support physical, psycho-social, cognitive, and spiritual well-being.
• Adapt programs based on participants' interests, abilities, and needs.
• Provide meaningful 1:1 engagement and support as needed.
• Complete daily attendance documentation and provide updates to individual service plans.
• Communicate changes in participants' conditions to the Community Services Coordinator and families.
