Demand Planning Analyst

Full Time Dallas, TX, US

3 days ago Requisition ID: 1230

Salary: $75,000.00 Annually

We are looking for a detail-oriented, analytically strong Demand Planner to join our expanding team at our Headquarters location in Dallas, Texas! The Demand Planner is responsible for forecasting product demand across all Miss A sales channels and translating those forecasts into accurate, timely purchase orders submitted to suppliers. This role ensures Miss A has the right inventory — in the right quantities — arriving at the right time, without overstocking or running out of stock.

This is a highly analytical role that requires deep fluency in sales data, strong supplier relationships, and the operational discipline to manage lead times, safety stock, and replenishment cycles across a fast-moving, trend-driven product assortment. The Demand Planner works hand in hand with the Buying team on what to buy, and with the Allocations & Inventory Specialist on how to distribute what arrives.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Demand Forecasting
  • Build and maintain demand forecasts by SKU, category, and channel — using historical sales data, sell-through trends, seasonal patterns, and buying team input
  • Analyze sales velocity across all stores and shopmissa.com to identify fast-moving and slow-moving SKUs and adjust forecasts accordingly
  • Incorporate external factors into forecasting — seasonality, promotional calendars, new product launches, trend shifts, and market conditions
  • Develop and continuously refine forecasting models to improve accuracy over time — tracking forecast vs. actual and adjusting methodology when variances occur
  • Produce weekly and monthly demand forecast reports for the Supply Chain Manager, Buying team, and Finance
Purchase Order Management
  • Calculate recommended order quantities by SKU based on demand forecasts, current inventory levels, safety stock targets, and supplier lead times
  • Generate and submit replenishment purchase orders to suppliers on a regular cadence — ensuring orders are placed with sufficient lead time to prevent stockouts
  • Maintain supplier lead time data by vendor and update as lead times change — factoring changes into future order timing
  • Coordinate with the Buying team to align replenishment POs with open-to-buy budgets and seasonal assortment plans
  • Manage initial order quantities for new product introductions — building the first buy based on comparable product performance and category benchmarks
Inventory Level Management
  • Set and maintain safety stock levels by SKU and channel — calibrated to supplier lead times, sales velocity, and stockout risk tolerance
  • Monitor inventory levels daily across stores, online, and warehouse — flagging stockout risk and excess inventory situations in advance
  • Identify SKUs at risk of stockout and expedite orders or reallocate existing inventory as needed to prevent lost salesIdentify overstock positions and work with the Buying and E-Commerce teams to initiate markdowns or promotional activity per the company's E&O policy
  • Maintain weeks-of-supply targets by category and adjust order quantities to stay within target ranges
Reporting & Analytics
  • Build and maintain a weekly demand planning dashboard covering: stockout rates, weeks of supply by category, forecast accuracy, open PO status, and inbound receipt schedule
  • Track and report on key demand planning KPIs: forecast accuracy rate, stockout rate, fill rate, inventory turn, and weeks of supply
  • Produce monthly inventory health reports for leadership and Finance — including aging inventory, excess stock positions, and upcoming receipt schedule
  • Run ad hoc analysis as needed to support buying decisions, promotional planning, and new product evaluations

Qualifications:

Required
  • 4+ years of experience in demand planning, inventory planning, supply chain, or a closely related role
  • Experience at a multi-channel retailer — managing inventory across both physical stores and e-commerce

  • Demonstrated experience submitting and managing purchase orders with suppliers — understanding of lead times, MOQs, and vendor compliance
  • Analytical and data-driven — comfortable working with large data sets and translating analysis into clear, actionable recommendations
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail — inventory errors and missed orders have direct financial impact
  • Ability to manage multiple suppliers, SKUs, and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

  • Familiarity with NetSuite ERP or similar enterprise planning systems
  • Experience with Shopify inventory and order management
  • Exposure to demand planning software
