Job summary

RTX in Cedar Rapids, IA, is seeking a Demand Planning Professional to support its Mission Systems business in a hybrid role (2–4 days onsite per week). You will develop and maintain rolling 18+ month demand plans translating customer requirements into actionable production and supply plans.

You will partner with B,D, program management and finance to balance capacity, inventory, and financial goals, leading SIOP activities and continuous forecasting improvements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain rolling 18+ month unconstrained demand plan for OE, Aftermarket, and MRO / Spares.
• Lead Demand Reviews and drive cross-functional alignment on the consensus demand plan.
• Translate customer demand into master schedule and Operations requirements.
• Support SIOP activities, including financial reconciliation and executive reviews.
• Analyze demand, orders, inventory, and forecast variances to identify risks and opportunities.
• Develop build-to-stock recommendations and inventory targets.
• Monitor key metrics: forecast accuracy, inventory performance, OTD, and demand variance.
• Ensure demand data integrity and compliance with customer requirements.
• Partner across functions to resolve constraints and support customer needs.
• Drive continuous improvement in forecasting methods and planning tools.

In this role, you will support mission-critical military programs by developing and maintaining demand plans that translate customer requirements into actionable production and supply plans. You will partner closely with Business Development, Program Management, Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain to align priorities, manage constraints, and support on-time delivery. You will represent the customer’s needs internally, using data and cross-functional collaboration to help determine the best way to meet program commitments while balancing capacity, inventory, financial objectives, and supply chain requirements. This is a hybrid role (working 2-4 days onsite per week) that can be based out of Cedar Rapids, IA, Rockford, IL, or Colorado Springs, CO. This role may have up to 20% travel and is not eligible for relocation. While Cedar Rapids, Rockford, or Colorado Springs would be preferred locations, we may be able to consider other locations that this position may interact with.

What You Will Do

• Develop and maintain rolling 18+ month minimum unconstrained demand plan for OE, Aftermarket, and MRO / Spares using inputs of historical data, customer and business intelligence.
• LeadDemand Reviewsand drive cross-functional alignment on the consensus demand plan.
• Translate customer demand into requirements that support themaster schedule and Operations.
• SupportSIOPactivities, including financial reconciliation, supply reviews, and executive reviews.
• Analyze demand, orders, inventory, market trends, and forecast variances to identify risks and opportunities.
• Develop build-to-stock recommendations, burn-down plans, sales forecasts, and inventory targets.
• Monitor and communicate key metrics includingforecast accuracy, inventory performance, OTD, and demand variance.
• Ensure demand data integrity and compliance with customer contractual requirements.
• Partner across functions to resolve constraints and make decisions that best support customer and business needs.
• Drive continuous improvement in forecasting methods, planning processes, and tools.

What You Will Learn

• Complete weekly review of orders and forecast reconciliation
• Complete program reviews to align on variance, decisions, and key assumptions
• Lead the monthly Demand reviewcovering variance from prior and other key inputs
• Demand planning with Kinaxis and ownership of demand parameters review bi-annually
• Supportvarious SIOP Discussions including Financial Reconciliation, Supply Review (SP&Es), and Executive SIOPs
• Understand Customer Contract requirements pertaining to Demand Elements
• Review KPIs for trends and perform root cause corrective action as appropriate
• Management Authorized Material (MAM) Approval Process adherence as required
• Demand data maintenance (data integrity)
• Timely communication and documentation of assumptions and variances to the Program Management Team (PMT) to support the overallSIOP process

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
• Prior experience in Demand Planning and Forecasting
• Travel as business needs dictate - could be up to 20%

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience with Excel including Pivot tables and VLookUp
• Experience leading and facilitating demand reviews
• Demonstrated leadership in Demand Planning and Forecasting by effectively coordinating cross-functional efforts and driving alignment across all areas

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
