Job summary

Generac Power Systems Inc. seeks a Demand Planner to develop and maintain accurate statistical forecasts across products, markets and regions.

You will analyze historical sales, seasonality and promotions, support the SIOP/IBP cycle, and collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Operations to improve forecast accuracy and data integrity. The role emphasizes clear communication of trends and risks to both technical and non-technical audiences and participation in continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a quantitative field.
  • Strong forecasting and data analysis skills.
  • Experience with demand planning and SIOP/IBP processes.
  • Excellent communication with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, maintains, and updates statistical demand forecasts across products and regions.
  • Analyzes sales trends, seasonality, promotions, and business drivers to inform forecasts.
  • Supports the monthly SIOP/IBP process with forecast analyses and reports.
  • Collaborates with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Operations to improve forecast accuracy.
  • Communicates forecast trends and risks clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

We believe power is a promise - a shared commitment to be there for others when it matters most.For more than 65 years, we've turned big ideas into solutions that help protect homes, strengthen businesses and build a more resilient, efficient, sustainable energy future.Ready to Power a Smarter World with us?Major ResponsibilitiesDevelops, maintains, and updates accurate statistical demand forecasts within the demand planning system, incorporating business assumptions and market intelligence to support operational and financial planning across products, markets, and regionsAnalyzes historical sales trends, customer demand patterns, seasonality, promotional activity, and other business drivers to support forecast development and maintenanceSupport the monthly SIOP/IBP demand planning process through forecast analysis, reporting, and participation in cross-functional demand review discussionsPerforms forecast variance analysis and root cause analysis to identify drivers of forecast error and recommend corrective actionsCollaborates with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Planning, and Operations teams to gather inputs and improve forecast assumptions and accuracyPrepares and distributes recurring demand planning reports, dashboards, and forecast summaries for business reviewSimplifies and communicates forecast trends, risks, and insights in a clear and concise manner for both technical and non-technical audiencesSupports continuous improvement initiatives related to forecasting processes, reporting, data quality, and system utilizationMaintains data integrity and supports master data management activities associated with demand planning systems and processesUtilizes quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques to support decision-making and identify demand trends and risksMinimum Job RequirementsEducationBachelor’s degree in Math, Business, Statistics, Supply Chain Management or other related quantitative disciplines, or equivalent experience.Work Experience3 years of experience in demand planning, market analysis, forecasting or related fieldKnowledge / Skills / AbilitiesExperience with statistical analysis tools and understands how to tweak with and analyze baseline forecasts within a systemAPICS CPIM/CSCP certification a plusAbility to think, analyze, and report on diverse business segmentsAbility to proficiently use without direct authority and works effectively with all levels of the organizationAble to manage multiple projects under tight deadlinesMicrosoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word requiredAble to influence othersExperience using SAP or equivalent ERPPhysical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.
