Job summary

Samsung Semiconductor's Memory Marketing team is seeking a Demand Planning Analyst to lead demand planning, influence supply/build planning, and optimize allocation for DRAM products, with daily onsite presence in San Jose, CA.

The role requires a BS in engineering or related field (EE, CS preferred; MBA preferred) and 3+ years in semiconductor supply/demand planning or hardware technology, plus advanced Excel and knowledge of MRP systems.

  • Bachelor’s degree required (EE, CS preferred, MBA preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in semiconductor supply/demand planning or hardware related technology.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and understanding of MRP systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to present.

Responsibilities

  • Track and analyze key market trends, identify gaps and opportunities.
  • Provide pricing strategies by customer/segment and incorporate field feedback.
  • Understand customer demand/forecast and influence allocation or production build plan.
  • Conduct strategic and competitive analysis, modeling TAM/SAM and market share.
  • Monitor weekly forecast changes and discuss variances with Sales and HQ.

What You’ll Do

Samsung Semiconductor's Memory Marketing team is the place to be. We use deep customer and market insight, experience, and market-driven innovation to develop new product and solution concepts to our key customers. As we enter an evolution of AI, our memory and storage products dramatically impact and shape accelerated computing requirements. With the high growth in memory needs, we are looking for a Demand Planning Analyst to lead all aspects of the demand planning process, influence supply/build planning, and help optimize allocation for Samsung DRAM products.

Location: Daily onsite presence at our San Jose, CAin alignment with our Flexible Work policy

Reports to: Principal Professional, B2B Sales

  • Market Analysis—Track & analyze key market & customer trends, identify gaps and opportunities, and analyze segment demand/TAM
  • Provide pricing strategies by customer/segment and scrutinize feedback from the field to finalize decisions
  • Understand detailed level of customer demand/forecast and supply to influence allocation or production build plan
  • Strategic Analysis, marketing strategy, and competitive analysis
  • Scrutinize analyst reports, highlight key messages, and model competitive TAM/SAM as well as Market Share
  • Manage balance of quarterly demand forecast against the supply plan to meet regional objectives.
  • Establish customer allocation based on priorities while maximizing revenue and market share.
  • Create and develop historical customer sales trend against demand forecast to help steer supply and product mix planning.
  • Monitor demand trends and discuss variances in forecasts with Sales that impact demand forecast accuracy.
  • Pull and integrate weekly changes in forecast, product allocation, and inventory. Review variances in delta/gaps, provide recommendations for adjustments, and share with Segment Marketing for feedback/inputs.
  • Create weekly summary of revisions/modifications, email to headquarters on a weekly basis, and discuss with headquarters on a biweekly cadence.
  • Work closely with headquarters to understand lead-times, capacity, and product supply position to optimize demand balance and revenue.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree required (EE, CS preferred, MBA preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience in semiconductor supply/demand planning or hardware related technology
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and understanding of MRP systems. Strong verbal and written communication skills are must, including excellent presentation and public speaking capability
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to grasp complex financial, technical, and marketing information to develop strategies
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and work in a fast-paced environment with cross-functional global teams in multiple time zones
  • High enthusiasm, self-motivated to execute strategies, and the ability to influence stakeholders at various levels
  • Familiarity with Korean language and culture is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain positive relationships
  • Ambitious, goal-oriented, and dedicated individual and team player
  • Collaborate effectively in a dynamic and multicultural environment

Base Pay Range

$152,000 - $236,000 USD
