Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Demand Planner in Charlotte, NC, to support a high-volume fiber network materials environment. You will forecast demand, plan supply, and manage inventory lifecycle across thousands of SKUs, partnering with Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain.

This hybrid role requires advanced Excel, experience with MRP systems, and a track record of driving process improvements in large enterprise settings.

Qualifications

  • 3-7+ years of experience in demand planning, supply planning, inventory management, or related functions.
  • Strong experience with MRP systems and large SKU counts.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including data analysis, forecasting, and modeling.
  • Deep understanding of inventory movement, controls, reconciliation, and planning processes.
  • Experience in large, complex commercial or enterprise environments.

Job description

Our client is seeking a Demand Planner to support a complex, high-volume inventory environment focused on fiber network and telecommunications materials. This individual will be responsible for demand forecasting, supply planning, inventory lifecycle management, and MRP execution across thousands of SKUs supporting Spectrum Business operations.

This is a highly analytical role that requires strong Excel skills, inventory planning expertise, and the ability to drive process improvements within a fast-paced supply chain environment. This is a hybrid role requiring 4 days onsite and 1 day remote.

Required Qualifications
  • 3-7+ years of experience in demand planning, supply planning, inventory management, or related supply chain functions
  • Strong experience working with MRP systems and large SKU counts
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including data analysis, forecasting, and modeling
  • Deep understanding of inventory movement, controls, reconciliation, and supply planning processes
  • Experience working in large, complex commercial or enterprise environments
Responsibilities
Demand & Supply Planning
  • Develop and maintain demand forecasts and supply plans across a large portfolio of network and fiber-related materials
  • Manage planning activities for 3,000+ SKUs within an MRP-driven environment
  • Align material supply plans with business demand requirements
  • Monitor inventory levels and proactively mitigate supply risks
Inventory Lifecycle Management
  • Manage inventory from procurement and replenishment through disposition of excess or obsolete materials
  • Oversee complex fiber-based inventory and device-specific configurations
  • Track and manage inventory tied to fiber wavelength-based devices, routing components, and network equipment
MRP & Planning Execution
  • Execute Material Requirements Planning (MRP) processes across a large SKU portfolio
  • Maintain planning accuracy and data integrity within existing systems and Excel-based workflows
  • Support initiatives focused on planning automation and enhanced supply chain tools
  • Drive inventory accuracy through cycle counts, reconciliation efforts, and root cause analysis
  • Track inventory movement across locations, suppliers, and vendors
  • Partner with Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to resolve inventory discrepancies
Process Improvement & Performance Management
  • Identify opportunities to improve forecasting accuracy, planning efficiency, and inventory management processes
  • Support the transition from manual planning processes to system-driven solutions
  • Track and report key supply chain KPIs including inventory accuracy, fill rates, material flow efficiency, and inventory optimization metrics
  • Provide recommendations that drive continuous operational improvement
