Job summary

KARL STORZ North America is seeking a Demand & New Products Planning Analyst to ensure optimal inventory levels and timely launches. You will partner with Marketing, Sales, Purchasing, and Supply Planning to generate accurate forecasts and drive planning improvements across Veterinary, Canada, Samples, and Rentals.

The role offers a hybrid schedule with three days remote and two days onsite in Auburn, MA, and a compensation range of $73,600–$95,600 annualized.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years in demand planning, supply planning, purchasing, sales, marketing, or another SCM function.
  • Strong understanding of demand planning, forecasting, inventory management, and SCM principles.
  • Advanced Excel skills to analyze large datasets and derive insights.
  • Experience with SAP and demand planning systems; ForecastPro a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with root-cause analysis.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration across functions and levels.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain item-level demand forecasts using historical data, trends, and cross-functional input.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Purchasing, and Supply Planning to improve forecast accuracy.
  • Lead monthly planning meetings for multiple categories to ensure accurate demand plans.
  • Support S&OP processes with analysis, reporting, and forecasting activities.
  • Coordinate demand planning for new product introductions and lifecycle management.
  • Analyze forecast performance and identify trends for continuous improvement.
  • Develop inventory sell-off strategies for products replaced by new tech or upgrades.
  • Communicate forecast assumptions and purchasing recommendations to stakeholders.

About the Role

The Demand and New Products Planning Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring our organization has the right inventory, at the right time, to support customer needs and business growth. In this role, you will partner closely with Marketing, Sales, Purchasing, Supply Planning, and Global Demand Planning teams to develop accurate demand forecasts, support new product launches, and drive continuous improvement within our planning processes.

You will lead planning activities for Veterinary, Canada, Samples, and Rentals while supporting key S&OP and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) initiatives. This position offers the opportunity to influence inventory strategy, supply readiness, new product introductions, and cross-functional decision-making across the business.

This role follows a hybrid work schedule with 3 days remote and 2 days onsite in our Auburn, MA office. The compensation range for this role is between $73,600 - $95,600.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain item-level demand forecasts using historical sales data, business trends, market insights, and cross-functional input.
  • Partner with Marketing, Sales, Purchasing, and Supply Planning teams to drive forecast accuracy and support business objectives.
  • Lead monthly planning meetings for Veterinary, Canada, Samples, and Rentals to ensure accurate and actionable demand plans.
  • Support the monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process through analysis, reporting, and forecasting activities.
  • Coordinate demand planning efforts for new product introductions, promotions, product transitions, and lifecycle management initiatives.
  • Analyze forecast performance, identify trends and exceptions, and perform root-cause analysis to drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop effective inventory sell-off strategies for products being replaced by new technologies, revisions, or product upgrades.
  • Communicate forecast assumptions, demand changes, and purchasing recommendations to internal stakeholders and supplier partners.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in demand planning, supply planning, purchasing, sales, marketing, or another Supply Chain-related function.
  • Strong understanding of demand planning, forecasting, inventory management, and Supply Chain principles.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyze large datasets and identify meaningful business insights.
  • Experience working with SAP and demand planning or forecasting systems; ForecastPro experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, including root-cause analysis and process improvement.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple functions and levels of the organization.

Nice to Have

  • APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM or equivalent).
  • Experience within a manufacturing, distribution, or medical device environment.
  • Experience supporting new product introductions and product lifecycle management activities.
  • Familiarity with Tableau, SAP IBP processes, or advanced demand planning tools.
  • Experience participating in S&OP and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes.
