Job summary

Lubrizol Corporation in Ohio is seeking a Demand Controller to ensure the accuracy and transparency of short‑term demand signals (2–12 weeks) and to align near‑term demand across the business. This role collaborates with Sales, Supply Chain, Customer Service and Production Scheduling to clarify short‑term adjustments and drive data‑driven decisions.

Requires a 2–4 year background in demand planning or related analytics, a bachelor’s degree, and hands‑on ERP/Demand Planning tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, economics, statistics, industrial engineering, finance, or a related analytical field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in demand planning, customer service, supply chain analysis, or a similar data‑driven planning role.
  • Experience with customer forecasts, sales orders, and near‑term demand coordination.
  • Proficiency with demand planning systems; Kinaxis, SAP IBP, OMP, or o9 is a strong plus.
  • Solid experience with ERP systems.
  • Proactive and accountable, able to anticipate issues and own corrective actions under pressure.
  • Customer‑focused with a drive for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accuracy, stability, and transparency of the short‑term execution signal (2–12 weeks).
  • Review and analyze inputs like customer forecasts and sales orders; align near‑term demand.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Production Scheduling on short‑term adjustments.
  • Highlight risks and opportunities; monitor demand patterns; ensure data‑driven adjustments.
  • Track short‑term execution performance metrics such as plan adherence.
  • Inform demand planners of changes, order shifts, or risks that impact longer‑term forecast.
  • Provide visibility into short‑term customer demand behavior, including late orders and cancellations.
  • Ensure demand data in the system remains accurate and aligned with guidance.
  • Validate system updates after rebalancing or input changes to maintain data integrity.
  • Adhere to governance routines for demand control within the ITP process.
  • Monitor demand realization and flag recurring issues like last‑minute variations.
  • Contribute to root‑cause analysis for short‑term deviations and propose corrective actions.

The Demand Controller is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, stability, and transparency of the short‑term execution signal (2–12 weeks) by aligning near‑term demand across the business.

  • Ensure the accuracy, stability, and transparency of the short‑term execution signal (2–12 weeks).
  • Review and analyze key inputs such as customer forecasts and sales orders, maintaining an aligned view of near‑term demand.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Production Scheduling to clarify short‑term adjustments to the constrained demand plan and their drivers.
  • Highlight risks and opportunities, monitor demand patterns, and ensure all execution signal adjustments are data‑driven and well understood.
  • Track short‑term execution performance metrics, including demand stability, plan adherence, and key drivers of week‑to‑week adjustments.
  • Inform demand planners and supply planners of key changes, order shifts, or risks that impact the longer‑term forecast
  • Provide clear visibility into short‑term customer demand behavior, including late orders, cancellations, and abnormal patterns
  • Ensure demand‑related data in the system remains accurate, timely, and aligned with commercial guidance
  • Validate system updates following rebalancing or customer input changes to maintain data integrity
  • Adhere to governance routines for demand control within the ITP process
  • Monitor demand realization and flag recurring issues such as repeated last‑minute order variations
  • Contribute to root‑cause analysis for short‑term demand deviations and propose corrective actions
Required Qualifications

  • Proficiency with demand planning or forecasting systems; experience with platforms such as Kinaxis, OMP, o9, SAP IBP, or equivalent is a strong plus.
  • Solid experience with ERP systems
  • Proactive and accountable, with the ability to anticipate issues, elevate early, and take ownership of resolving short‑term demand gaps while maintaining process discipline under pressure.
  • Customer‑focused and committed to continuous improvement, effectively balancing service needs with operational realities.
Work Environment
  • Standing, walking, or operating equipment for extended periods
