Automation/Controls Engineer

Location: Houston, TX

Our client, an engineering systems integration company, is seeking a Controls/Automation Engineer to work on automation and control system projects across industries such as Life Sciences, Water/Wastewater, Data Centers, Semiconductor Fabrication, Building Automation, and Food & Beverage.

The urgent need is for a candidate experienced with Emerson's DeltaV DCS to work a hybrid schedule for their clients. Responsibilities include DeltaV DCS development, PLC, HMI, and SCADA programming. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of network design, IT/OT equipment, procurement, installation, wiring, check-out support, and commissioning.

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• Experience with DeltaV DCS
• PLC programming and/or DCS hardware/software
• Knowledge of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) (Bonus)
• Programming skills in VB, .NET, JavaScript
• Ability to read P&ID diagrams, understand sequences of operations, and tune PID loops
• Experience with S88 standards
• Designing electrical schematics and power distribution (480VAC and below)
• Preparing I&C and DCS/PLC control panel specifications for procurement
• Project management experience
• Sales and business development skills, including estimating and proposals
