Delivery Specialist Job Description

The Delivery Specialist will maintain and operate store vehicles to deliver parts and/or products to professional customers in a safe and efficient manner. This role also involves collecting money on C.O.D. deliveries and picking up customer returns.

Essential Job Functions

1. Operate company vehicles to deliver parts and products safely and efficiently.
2. Use delivery fleet management hand-held devices to process deliveries, capture customer signatures, update vehicle mileage, and complete daily vehicle inspections.
3. Keep vehicles clean, maintained, and perform daily inspections prior to use.
4. Secure vehicles, keys, fuel/fleet credit cards, hand-held devices, and collected monies at all times.
5. Pick up customer returns (e.g., new, warranty, cores) and fill out driver return slips.
6. Communicate customer issues or special needs to store management.
7. Report vehicle maintenance needs, accidents, or damages immediately.
8. Ensure fuel tanks are filled and vehicles are locked and secured at day's end.
9. Clock in/out as per company policy.
10. Perform additional duties such as customer service, stock organization, merchandising, errands, core returns, and stock order management.
11. Assist customers, serve as cashier, or help with merchandising as needed.
12. Perform any other duties assigned.

Skills, Education, Knowledge, Experience, and Abilities

Required:

• Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Adaptability to changing delivery situations.
• Driving record that meets company standards (14/18-point system).
• Valid state driver’s license and compliance with company driving eligibility requirements.

Desired:

• Familiarity with automotive parts.
• Ability to operate other light store equipment.
• Fluency in multiple languages, especially Spanish.
