Job description

The Delivery Specialist will maintain and operate store vehicles to deliver parts and/or products to professional customers in a safe and efficient manner. This position will also collect money on C.O.D. deliveries and pick up customer returns.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Operate company vehicles to deliver parts and products to customers safely and efficiently.
2. Use delivery fleet management hand-held devices to process deliveries, capture customer signatures, update vehicle mileage, and complete daily vehicle inspections.
3. Keep vehicles clean, maintained, and complete daily inspections before operating.
4. Secure delivery vehicles, keys, fuel/fleet credit cards, hand-held devices, and collected monies at all times.
5. Pick up customer returns (new, warranty, cores, etc.) and fill out driver return slips.
6. Communicate customer issues or needs to store management.
7. Report vehicle maintenance needs, accidents, or damage immediately to the store manager.
8. Ensure fuel tanks are filled and vehicles are locked and secured at the end of each day.
9. Clock in and out according to company policy.
10. Perform additional duties such as customer service, stock stocking, merchandising, errands, core returns, and stock order management.
11. Assist customers, serve as a cashier, or help with merchandising when needed.

SKILLS/EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES

Required:

• Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Adaptability to changing delivery situations.
• Driving record must meet company standards (14/18-point system).
• Legally required valid state driver's license and driving eligibility.

Desired:

• Familiarity with automotive parts.
• Ability to operate other light store equipment.
