Job summary

Maersk is seeking a Driver Helper in Joplin, MO to join a two-person delivery team. You will safely handle appliances, assist the driver, and may operate the box truck when needed.

This role supports route execution and customer interaction from dock load to final placement and assembly. The position requires a valid REAL ID driver’s license, DOT medical, ability to lift up to 75 lbs, and prior delivery experience.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license (REAL ID) and acceptable motor vehicle record required.
• Current DOT medical certification required.
• Ability to operate a box truck, and willingness to drive the route when required.
• Must clear First Advantage background screening and all customer-required screening prior to onboarding.
• Previous appliance, furniture, heavy-bulky or in-home delivery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle and place appliances and heavy-bulky product safely inside customer residences and businesses.
• Protect customer homes during delivery by preventing damage.
• Load, stage and secure product for the daily route and verify route items.
• Assist route execution with navigation, delivery coordination and customer communication.
• Operate the box truck when needed and support on days driver is unavailable.
• Assist pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report issues.
• Document and report any product or property damage promptly.
• Follow established procedures in a fast-paced environment.
• Safely operate warehouse equipment for dock loading when trained.
• Maintain OSHA compliance and adherence to safety rules and policies.
• Keep vehicle, uniform and work area clean and professional.
• Provide professional customer service and perform additional duties as assigned.
