Job description

We have partnered with our client in their search for a Delivery Manager, Ecommerce.

Tremendous opportunity to grow a modern agile digital delivery management team in a company on an explosive growth path and a leader in their space. This position will spearhead the digital delivery planning, reporting, process development and more.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Delivery Management

  • Partner with product management and tech leadership on prioritization and capacity to establish sprint and release goals to include business outcome and value.
  • Lead backlog management activities to ensure items are prioritized, labeled, refined, and in a state be picked up by the development teams.
  • Oversee key sprint ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, retrospectives, and standups.
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure items maintain momentum, blockers are assessed, and sprints are closed out with minimal carryover.
  • Monitor and assess delivery activities to ensure efficiency.
  • Manage vendor delivery team and advise on process improvements and client engagement to ensure accountability and visibility.
Planning
  • Coordinate and lead big room planning and solutioning activities with the product, tech, dev, QA, and program teams.
  • Facilitate working sessions to support design and solutioning with product management and tech teams. Lead dependency and story mapping sessions for supporting initiatives.
  • Monitor and assess tooling capabilities to ensure efficiency and usability.
  • Lead automation of manual processes within Jira/ADO/Wiki to streamline reporting and activities.
  • Partner closely with PMO on required reporting and planning deliverables/activities.
Change Management
  • In partnership with digital workforce team, champion, enforce, and guide teams, stakeholders, and vendors on existing change management processes.
  • Enforce standard change processes and minimize emergency changes where possible.
  • Work with the service management team on identified gaps and opportunities for continuous process improvement.
  • Lead change ticket creation, ownership, and shepherd through CAB presentation.
  • Facilitate risk assessment activities.
Release Management
  • Develop and deploy release management strategy within digital environment.
  • Oversee all deployments to stage and production environments.
  • Review and approve release items to deploy to stage and deployment readiness in coordination with product management, vendors, CAB reviews and PMO as needed.
  • Develop reusable deployment plans and activities.
  • Review release items for readiness, dependencies, risk, and impact.
  • Review, assess, and continue to improve release management activities.
  • Populate release notes and communicate releases to stakeholders.
  • Facilitate release/deployments and monitor execution.
Reporting
  • Establish metrics and reporting process to report upon sprint progress and completion.
  • Report on release statistics to assess risk based on impacted areas of the site via dashboards.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • 8+ years digital delivery management or similar experience in a digital environment.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum software development.
  • Previous management experience.
  • Influential communicator and skilled operator in a matrixed environment.
  • Track record in working toward quantifiable targets and goal orientation.
  • Strong executive presence with good presentation abilities.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • A curious attitude and desire to learn.
  • Experience managing third-party vendors.
