Job summary

Solutions Driven is seeking an experienced Alternative Delivery Manager to lead planning, pursuit, and delivery of complex Large Diameter Water Conveyance projects across Texas. You will work with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and industry partners to drive successful design-build and alternative delivery initiatives.

A bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering and 7+ years of construction leadership are required.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of contractor or construction management experience.
  • Experience with large-diameter water conveyance projects and municipal water clients.
  • Background in horizontal and underground construction, open-cut and trenchless methods.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all phases of alternative and collaborative delivery projects, from business development through design and contract management.
  • Develop pursuit strategies and support proposal development for major water infrastructure opportunities.
  • Collaborate with clients, engineering partners, and internal teams to deliver Design-Build and alternative delivery projects.
  • Provide leadership throughout the project lifecycle and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Coordinate with estimating, scheduling, and project controls teams during project development.
  • Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and make timely decisions.
  • Support business development by identifying opportunities and fostering municipal relationships.

Alternative Delivery Manager – Large Diameter Water Conveyance

Locations: Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, or San Antonio, TX

Work Setup & Travel: Hybrid or Remote candidates are expected to travel around 50%, although this will vary depending on the person’s location and current assignments.

Additional notes: Travel approximately twice per month (typically departing on Monday and returning on Thursday), work remotely on Fridays, and spend the remaining weeks working from the office.

We're seeking an experienced Alternative Delivery Manager to lead the planning, pursuit, and delivery of complex Large Diameter Water Conveyance projects across Texas.

This is an opportunity to join a highly respected, industry-leading contractor recognized for delivering complex infrastructure projects that strengthen communities. You'll play a key role in leading alternative delivery initiatives from early business development through design, contract management, and project execution while working alongside multidisciplinary teams, clients, and industry partners.

What You'll Do
  • Lead all phases of alternative and collaborative delivery projects, from business development and pursuits through design and contract management.
  • Develop pursuit strategies and support proposal development for major water infrastructure opportunities.
  • Collaborate with clients, engineering partners, and internal teams to deliver successful Design-Build and alternative delivery projects.
  • Provide leadership throughout the project lifecycle while maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Coordinate with technical, estimating, scheduling, and project controls teams during project development.
  • Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while making sound, timely decisions.
  • Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities and fostering long-term relationships with municipal clients and industry partners.
  • Ensure projects are delivered with a strong focus on quality, collaboration, and client satisfaction.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of contractor or construction management experience.
  • Experience with large-diameter water conveyance projects, including municipal water clients, regulations, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Background in horizontal and underground construction, including open-cut and trenchless methods. (Candidates with only vertical construction experience will not be considered.)
  • Previous experience delivering or pursuing municipal water projects in Texas.
  • Strong understanding of the Texas municipal water market, procurement processes, regulations, and upcoming opportunities.
  • Established relationships across Texas municipalities, water authorities, utilities, engineering firms, and key industry decision-makers.
  • Strong experience with alternative delivery methods, including Design-Build, EPC, and preconstruction.
  • Proven leadership on large infrastructure projects with strong technical writing, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency with scheduling, estimating, and project controls software.
