Job summary

Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) is seeking a Delivery Associate to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment across the campus. You will load/unload with lift gates and forklifts, drive APL vehicles, and track parcels while upholding safety and customer service standards.

Minimum qualifications include 1+ year delivery experience, ability to lift 50 lbs, a valid driver’s license, DOT card, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of delivery/shipment operations experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and walk extensively.
• Valid state driver’s license in good standing.
• Ability to obtain/possess and maintain a DOT Card.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Strong interpersonal, time management and customer service skills.
• Able to obtain APL forklift certification within 3 months of hire.
• Able to load/unload using pallet jack, lift gate and forklift.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• US citizenship and ability to obtain Secret level security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure incoming material and equipment is delivered to the right person/location in a timely manner.
• Assist with loading/unloading using lift gates, forklifts, or pallet jacks.
• Drive APL vehicles and perform precautionary actions to prevent damage.
• Track deliveries, run reports, and reconcile errors daily.
• Provide support to the group as needed.
• Maintain use of APL vehicles in daily operations.
