Job summary

Montalbano Lumber in Houston is seeking a Delivery Load Builder to accurately prepare and stage customer orders for delivery, ensuring correct products are selected, tagged, and ready for transport.

You will operate forklifts and hand trucks, follow safety protocols, and collaborate with the yard and drivers to maintain efficient delivery operations and high customer satisfaction. Previous warehouse or yard experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse, yard or delivery operations.
• Familiarity with lumber and building materials (LBM) products and handling equipment.
• Forklift certification preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work outdoors in varying conditions.

Responsibilities

• Build delivery loads per order specs with correct product selection, tagging and staging.
• Secure loads using straps, bands, and other approved methods; assist drivers with pre-departure checks.
• Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks and other equipment to move and stage products.
• Report shortages, damages, or misplacements to the Yard Foreman and Inventory Manager.
• Maintain a clean, organized, hazard-free staging area for delivery operations.
• Collaborate with Yard Foreman, Delivery Drivers and warehouse staff for smooth handoffs.
• Follow safety protocols and participate in trainings as required.
