Job summary

CBRE Government & Defense Services is seeking a Delivery Lead Construction Manager to oversee a team of project inspectors on FAA facility projects. You will provide on-site construction oversight, ensure compliance with drawings, specs, contracts, and FAA requirements, and coordinate with stakeholders to drive on-time delivery.

Applicants must be a US citizen and able to pass a Public Trust background check.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• 7+ years in construction management, on-site delivery, QA/QC or related aviation/federal projects.
• PMP/CCM/PE or OSHA 30 certifications preferred.

Job Summary

The Delivery Lead Construction Manager is responsible for leading and managing a team of project inspectors and supporting staff while providing on-site construction oversight, project coordination, inspection, and quality assurance to ensure FAA facility projects are completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, contracts, and FAA operational requirements.

The Delivery Lead Construction Manager will also oversee daily team activities, assign inspection responsibilities, mentors staff, and ensure consistent documentation and adherence to FAA standards. Works closely with FAA Construction Managers, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, airport authorities, and other stakeholders to monitor progress, verify performance, identify deficiencies, coordinate corrective actions and support successful project delivery.

Primary Job Functions

• Lead, mentor, and provide technical guidance to inspection personnel to ensure consistent performance and compliance with FAA standards, specifications, and procedures.
• Review inspection reports, field documentation, deficiency logs, and project records for accuracy, completeness, and timely corrective action.
• Coordinate team priorities, evaluate performance, identify training needs, and support the professional development of inspection personnel.
• Provide on-site oversight of FAA construction activities and verify that completed and in-progress work conforms to approved drawings, specifications, safety requirements, and technical standards.
• Monitor contractor and subcontractor performance, conduct field inspections and compliance audits, and identify construction deficiencies, risks, or deviations requiring corrective action.
• Maintain daily inspection logs, progress reports, photographs, punch lists, discrepancy records, and turnover documentation in accordance with FAA reporting requirements.
• Coordinate work sequencing, issue resolution, and project priorities with FAA Construction Managers, Engineering Services, Technical Operations, airport authorities, contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders.
• Monitor project schedules, quality, and compliance while applying construction and engineering expertise to resolve issues and support successful FAA project delivery.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience and Certification

• Education Level (Required): Bachelor’s degree – Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, or related field. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
• Years of Experience (Required): 7+ year – Relevant construction management, on-site project delivery, construction inspection, QA/QC, or related aviation/federal infrastructure experience. Experience managing teams delivering complex construction program preferred.
• License/Certification (Preferred): Certification – PMP, CCM, PE, OSHA 30, construction inspection certifications, or quality related credentials.

Working Conditions

• Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc.

• Strong technical capability across project phases: design, planning, construction, operations, and maintenance.
• Knowledge of recognized and generally accepted good engineering practice regulations and codes.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical requirements.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
• Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information and the willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. Experience with Kahua is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
• Ability to travel extensively and work independently on FAA project sites.

Travel Requirements

• Extensive travel to project sites is required. Travel may include overnight stays, nights and weekends, occasional holiday coverage, and travel between multiple project locations.
