Job summary

UNKNOWN, Raleigh-based, seeks a Senior/Staff engineer with 8+ years building software. You will join as an early member of the engineering team and own client deployments end to end—from discovery conversations to production and measurement.

You will design the system, write the code, deploy it, prove it worked, and feed learnings back into the platform so the next deployment starts farther ahead. You will work with a seasoned CX and Product partner who owns the client relationship.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building software, including 3+ years shipping and operating production systems you were personally accountable for.
• Shipped LLM-powered systems that real users depend on: RAG, structured agents, tool calling workflows.
• Multi-tenant architecture experience with isolation, per-tenant configuration, and failure-mode awareness.
• Built evaluation into an AI system: offline evals, shadow mode, regression suites.
• Implemented guardrails and rollback paths, used under pressure.
• Able to run a technical discovery conversation with a non-technical business owner and extract requirements.
• Clear writing; able to describe complex designs unambiguously.

Responsibilities

• Own client deployments end to end from discovery through production and measurement.
• Design system primitives: Identity & State, Memory & Context, Reasoning & Playbooks, Actions & Surfaces.
• Lead by example: design reviews, delivery standards, mentoring, and interface with clients.
• Collaborate with CX and Product partner who owns the client relationship; you are in the room for discovery and design reviews.
• Contribute to platform evolution so future deployments are faster and more scalable.
• Uphold production discipline: tests, migrations, tenant isolation, secure APIs, documentation.
