Job summary

Builders FirstSource in Florida seeks a driver helper to assist the Driver with delivering orders, loading and off-loading products, and may drive a pilot vehicle for oversize loads. CDL not required for this role.

You will assist with securing loads, plan routes, and ensure safety while delivering to customer sites. A high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand maps, routes, road signs.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to read and understand machine and equipment diagrams.
• Knowledge of escort service regulations.
• Knowledge of basic math and measurement skills.
• Knowledge of and ability to use motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Assists with loading and securing product onto delivery vehicle.
• Delivers and off-loads product at customer sites with Driver, carrying items to designated areas.
• Delivers customer orders using a company van or pickup truck and obtains signed proof of delivery.
• Drives pilot vehicle for oversize loads and ensures safety compliance.
• Inspects and maintains delivery vehicles for safety and regulatory compliance.
• Plans daily work to meet productivity goals.
