Block+Tackle is seeking a Delivery Excellence Leader to design, operate, and scale its delivery operating model, ensuring engagements are delivered with quality, predictability, and discipline. You will own governance, assurance, and intervention mechanisms across pre-sale, start-up, planning, execution, and closure, driving continuous improvement and accountability for delivery outcomes.
The role requires balancing strategic oversight with hands-on problem solving, driving standards, risk
Design, operate, and continuously improve Block+Tackle's delivery operating model, ensuring client engagements are executed with exceptional quality, predictability, accountability, and operational discipline.
This leader owns the systems, standards, governance, and oversight mechanisms that make delivery excellence repeatable and scalable, independent of the services being delivered or the individuals leading the work.
The role combines delivery system development with active engagement assurance, holding Engagement Leads accountable and exercising direct intervention authority when delivery performance is at risk.
Build and maintain a scalable, service-agnostic delivery framework spanning pre-sale validation, engagement initiation, planning, execution, assurance, and closure.
Establish consistent delivery standards, quality controls, decision rights, escalation protocols, and management rhythms.
Continuously refine delivery practices based on performance data, lessons learned, and changing business needs.
Establish tiered oversight appropriate to each engagement's size, complexity, risk, and strategic importance.
Maintain visibility into engagement health, delivery commitments, quality, dependencies, and emerging risks.
Hold individual Engagement Leads accountable for adherence to standards, proactive risk management, and delivery outcomes.
Ensure engagement status reflects objective evidence rather than subjective confidence.
Identify underperforming or at-risk engagements and require timely corrective action.
Direct recovery planning, establish performance checkpoints, and verify resolution.
Escalate persistent performance issues and recommend or initiate changes in engagement leadership when necessary.
Exercise authority to intervene before delivery failures compromise client outcomes or confidence.
Partner with commercial and solution leaders to validate delivery feasibility, assumptions, dependencies, and commitments before work is sold.
Establish delivery readiness requirements and govern engagement kickoff.
Ensure engagements begin with clear ownership, achievable commitments, appropriate plans, and identified risks.
Identify systemic delivery failures, inefficiencies, rework, and operational friction.
Develop improvements that strengthen execution consistency, delivery quality, and organizational scalability.
Establish a culture of ownership, rigor, transparency, urgency, and continuous improvement across delivery leadership.
The Delivery Excellence Leader has organizational authority to establish and enforce delivery standards, assess engagement performance, require corrective action, direct delivery recovery efforts, and recommend or initiate changes in engagement leadership through established personnel decision processes.
The role operates across engagements without requiring direct line management of delivery personnel.
Business Operations owns financial reporting, capacity data, and operational controls. Account leaders own client relationships and commercial accountability. Engagement Leads remain accountable for day-to-day execution and delivery outcomes.
The Delivery Excellence Leader is accountable for ensuring the delivery system functions effectively across all three.
A hands-on, commercially aware professional-services delivery leader with experience establishing scalable delivery operations, governing complex engagements, and improving execution performance across multidisciplinary teams.
This individual combines systems thinking with practical delivery judgment, strong operational discipline, and the confidence to challenge experienced engagement leaders. They can build durable processes without bureaucracy, recognize execution problems early, and intervene decisively.
They are a builder, an operator, and an effective enforcer of standards, not simply a PMO administrator or senior project manager.
The mandate: Make exceptional delivery an institutional capability of Block+Tackle, rather than an outcome dependent on individual effort, experience, or heroics.
We're a team of Forward Deployed Marketing Engineers on a mission to make exceptional marketing repeatable. We embed inside ambitious marketing organizations and build the operating system that runs their marketing, spanning strategy, data, technology, and process, so that customer potential turns into enduring business value. We work within our clients' teams and systems, and we measure success by what they can do without us: capability, not dependency. If you'd rather build the thing than write the recommendation about it, you'll fit right in.
